What is a 
RESTOPRENEUR™️

A Restopreneur™️ is as much of an idea as it is a person. 

Let's start out and be clear that not everyone who does restoration or disaster recovery/ property damage falls into this identity. This label is open to be used by anyone who meets some or all of the characteristics you will read below. 

• Possesses and openly showcases a strong empathetic nature. The innate ability to understand and share the feelings of another. That should come from personal experience of self or others you care for. The ability to put your own needs aside, listen intently, and make sure that whoever is experiencing hardship knows you are on their side and will work hard to help them out of their current state. 

• Takes the responsibility to be an eternal student and learner of all things that drive towards being the best possible professional they can be. One that takes the expectation that claiming to be such a professional cannot be a static position but a journey to learn what you do not know. That is from formal education or others. 

• Is an educator and mentor. They accept that part of being a valued member of a community or tribe requires reciprocity of knowledge and opportunity. 

• One that adopts a mindset of Abundance and not Scarcity. Understand intensely that opportunities are only provided when you are open to seeing or accepting them. 

• Is competitive but not greedy. Accepts that if you are chasing a quick buck, you likely will only have one buck. A gardener and farmer instead of a shark or farmer.

• Is able to balance emotion but doesn't let emotion get in the way of what needs to be done. A Restopreneur™ is focused and can have thick skin. Leadership is hard but rewarding. 

• Can be strategic, logical, and biased to action. 

• Understand BUSINESS. It's important to be great at the trade and craft but knowing that there is an obligation to maintain focus and pursuit to have consistent and stable infrastructure.

• Is involved or intends to be involved in industry organizations.Puts their time and money where their mouth is. Agrees that complaining and waiting for others to do the biggest things is a black hole of mediocrity and seldom returns desired results. 

But be careful. The "preneur" part is what gets you. 
You are visionaries and are living in an avalanche of ideas, which can be a serious blessing and a serious obstruction. Knowing what to do with all the ideas and when to leap and when to hold tight is a JEDI MASTER trick. We can help with that. 

There are likely dozens of characteristics that could be listed (and likely will be). 
But this is a wordsmith combination we created for our industry to have a sense of TRIBE.
